Proactive Service® Workshop

MCA Ottawa, in partnership with the construction education council (cec) is pleased to present the Proactive Service Workshop. The Proactive Service® workshop is a highly interactive training program that has been specifically designed to help field service technicians identify and close more business opportunities by building and leveraging stronger, more durable business relationships. The workshop shows technicians how they can add much more value and provide even higher levels of service if they take a proactive approach to discussing ways their firms can help the customer. Topics include the importance of personal and professional competence, the communication process and factors that affect it, leveraging relationships and opportunities to build revenue, and finding opportunities to sell your company’s value.

All Members Meeting

The 2015 Annual All Members Meeting was held at The Prescott Hotel on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. This event gives our members a chance to network as well as congratulate apprentices who receive bursaries. Bursaries of $500 each are awarded to our apprentices in either the piping or sheet metal trade who have achieved the highest marks in each of the three levels of day school. Bursaries of $1,000 each are awarded to our apprentices in the piping or sheet metal trade who have achieved the highest marks on their Certificate of Qualification (CofQ).

This year’s bursary recipients are:

Sheet Metal:

  • Basic Level – William McLean (gpa 3.93)
  • Intermediate Level – Matthew Smith (gpa 3.96)
  • Advanced Level 3 – Christopher Casey (gpa 3.88)
  • CofQ – Michael Lebel (92%)
